At Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh (DCPP), our practice follows a revolutionary, but simultaneously refreshingly old-fashioned, model of care. Called Direct Primary Care (DPC), this healthcare delivery model allows patients to contract directly with our team for basic medical services.
The following is a basic overview of our primary care and family services. More information about our core examinations and procedures are also available on this website.

Note that we offer a free initial consultation, where you can explore the DPC care model and ask us questions directly. You will have no obligation to register with us following a consultation. No medical advice or treatment will be offered at this consultation.

Benefits of Direct Primary Care
The team at Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh (DCPP) is proud to offer a more hands-on, one-stop alternative to traditional primary care. By “subscribing” to our practice through a standard monthly fee, our patients can access all of the typical outpatient primary care services found in a large office right here at DCPP. Services are also available to all, regardless of their traditional insurance status. Since we do not bill any insurance company for our services, all costs and payments are determined and arranged through DCPP.

- Sexual health maintenance, including pap smears, STI screening, transgender health

- Acute/sick visits same or next day
- Assistance with coordinating care if hospitalized

Primary Care Services Offered
One of the most important tenets of the Direct Primary Care (DPC) model we follow at Direct Care Physicians of Pittsburgh is the idea of “preventative care.” Rather than waiting until you’re sick, injured, or showing symptoms to begin treatment, our team focuses on spending the time and energy it takes to catch the signs of budding problems before they become detrimental to your life.
We accomplish this goal in part by offering a wide range of testing services and minor procedures that can help us take a 360-degree view of your overall health and begin treatment as early as possible should anything be detected. Our available tests and procedures include:
- EKGs
- Rapid strep testing
- Urinalysis
- Urine pregnancy testing
- Ear wax removal
- Glucose testing
- PAP smears (+ pathology fee)
- STI testing (+ lab fee)
- Pulse oximetry
- Peak flow testing (asthma)
- Nebulizer treatments
- Skin tag removal
- Cryotherapy of skin lesions (i.e., warts)
- Drainage of abscesses/boils
- Skin lesion biopsy (+ pathology fee)
- Simple laceration repair
- Trigger point injections (+ small supply fee)
- Select Joint injections (+ med/supply fee)
*Some services will have an additional cost. Pricing in these cases will always be transparent and made as affordable as possible.
